A Little About Me - Mim's Story
Hi!
I'm Mim, a mother to four incredible children, my heart and soul. They've been my rock through life's ups and downs.
In my life, three things take the spotlight: my family, lifting weights, and my love for all things culinary. Think of me as that friend who's always ready to discuss delicious, healthy recipes or celebrate a new gym achievement.
Today, I meet you as the happiest and healthiest I've ever been, in a way I once couldn't have imagined. My journey hasn't been straightforward, but it's been transformative.
I've always had a deep love for sports, especially running. Competing in the 1500m was my world, but the pressures of life and an unhealthy relationship led me down a path of severely disordered eating. For nearly two decades, I battled with anorexia and bulimia which almost cost me my life, leading to serious health issues, including major bowel surgery and osteopenia.
Eventually after many years I found my way back through strength training and studying the science of nutrition, eventually reversing my osteopenia and reclaiming my health.
These experiences, tough as they were, have shaped me into who I am today – a woman dedicated to health, nutrition, and helping others overcome their own health challenges.
Before diving into health and fitness, I spent 12 years in London as an addictions therapist for young offenders. This experience deeply informed my understanding of resilience, recovery, and behavioural change.
I'm also qualified in traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and Tui na massage, and I'm passionate about integrating these ancient practices into my approach to modern well-being.
My personal passion lies in bodybuilding, and I have a keen interest in working with 35+ year old female athletes in strength training and weightlifting, as well as supporting them on to and through the pre, peri and post menopausal changes.
For over 13 years, I haven't had a gym membership. Instead, our living room has evolved into my sanctuary of strength, complete with weight racks, bars and machines.
I have a big heart for animals and although, currently, it's just our python at home, we often welcome an assortment of other furry and four legged guests.
I'm an explorer at heart and always seeking new adventures, having lived in Cambodia for a few years and looking forward to returning in the future.
Learning is a lifelong adventure for me, and photography, particularly black and white street photography, is my artistic escape. My camera is always with me!
Every day, I aim to be the best version of myself and I'm here to help you do the same on your journey.
With warmth and resilience,
Mim x
